Welcome to The Studio.
A drama-led communication programme with an eight-week teaching sequence, practical staff development and accessible creative tools. Pupils explore ideas through speech, AAC, symbols, gesture, characters and supported participation.
Explore the working classroom demonstration and its complete eight-week teaching plan. The programme remains in development for school piloting, with drama, pupil choice and teacher practice at its centre.

Bring communication into shared everyday moments through café, picnic and food-free drama. Welcoming, listening, opinions and repair each have a purpose.

Drama Lab
Games, improvisation, roleplay, expression and confidence-building activities shaped by specialist drama practice.
Voice Lab
Choose how to respond: live, recorded, with a partner, through AAC, using symbols or with another form of support.
On Air
Picture challenges, digital or real props, and supported debate with agree/disagree cards and reasons.
Character Bridge
Choose a speaking puppet, record or load your voice, and replay it with responsive mouth movement and optional light voice effects. Choose who hears it.
Create + Record
Plan a film, podcast, character piece or performance. Use school-approved tools for final media editing and production.
My Journey
Set individual communication goals, check confidence lightly and notice meaningful progress over time.
PROGRESS FROM A STARTING POINT
Not everybody has to reach the same stage.
Speak Together begins with a pupil-friendly baseline and two or three individual goals. Confident speakers can extend their skills, while pupils who find communication difficult can use lower-pressure routes and consolidate before moving on.
Joining in→Expressing→Developing→Presenting→Leading
Progress might mean answering an unexpected question, giving another pupil space, contributing through AAC, recording one sentence, co-presenting with support or sharing something live. Each of those can be meaningful.

The planned school package
Explore a structured programme, staff guidance, digital activities, baseline and progress tools, supporting resources and training so the work can continue in school.
Planned delivery
The aim is for schools to run the core programme after training, with optional launch workshops, review sessions and specialist practitioner input. Pilot discussions will shape the support each setting needs.
Inclusive by design
Speech is never the only route. Activities can build from the pupil’s established communication system and include AAC, signing, symbols, gesture, recorded responses and partner support.
