# Belong Together — Student Production Brief

## The challenge
Create a short scenario another teenager will recognise as believable. The aim is not to lecture the viewer. It is to make them notice, think, choose and know where to turn.

## Suggested team
- Student writers
- Drama / acting group
- Student director or assistant director
- Camera / sound team
- Editor / graphics team
- Safeguarding reviewer
- Staff project lead

## Scenario structure
1. **Set-up** — Where are we? Who is involved?
2. **The moment** — Something changes or feels wrong.
3. **Pause** — Stop before the decision is made.
4. **Choice** — Give 2–4 believable next steps.
5. **Explore** — What might happen after each choice?
6. **Connect** — Make the safe support route clear.

## Writing rules
- Keep the language natural.
- Avoid making the “wrong” choice ridiculous.
- Do not use real pupil disclosures as entertainment.
- Change identifying details in any scenario inspired by real events.
- Avoid showing harmful behaviour in unnecessary detail.
- Have safeguarding staff review the script before filming.

## Filming target
Aim for 45–90 seconds before the first decision point. A small number of strong scenarios is better than a large library of weak ones.

## Review questions
- Would young people actually speak like this?
- Is the dilemma clear without being simplistic?
- Can different pupils access the content?
- Does the support route match the school’s real process?
- What should be changed after pupil testing?
